Hello! Let me introduce myself.
Texture is my PASSION! I have that hair type that isn’t really one thing or the other and like many with curly hair, it has changed throughout my life. It’s curly some days, but mostly wavy, and some pieces just fall straight no matter what I do. But that’s embracing natural texture for you, and I love helping others see the unique beauty they already possess by enhancing what is already there. I’m a graduate of Paul Mitchell School Systems and of the official DevaCurl Academy in NYC. I entered this industry in 2015 and have been a curl specialist since 2017. During that time, I’ve honed and developed different curl cutting, coloring, and styling techniques and have discovered that intuition and an intimate knowledge and respect of texture can allow any rule to be broken, thus my methods are tailored to the individual rather than conforming to any singular method. My greatest love is bringing out the best in others through the instillation of confidence. My goal is to be a visionary: someone who influences the energy of a room, who acts as a day-maker, and who creates magic for everyone around me. So come see what your curls can do with some knowledge and a little magic. I can’t wait to play with your hair!
My Brand
Mission
My primary goal is to make magic for my guests. I strive to create a culture of kindness and positivity in an elevated, comfortable, and sustainable environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and beautiful.
Culture
My space is designed to cultivate a culture of kindness and positivity. While the salon stereotype can look like gossip hubs for complaints and negativity, I aim to steer our conversations toward positivity and uplift. Even when we must work through challenges together, I will sit with you in any sadness and try to always be a catalyst toward joy. I want your time with me to be a break from the real world. My job is to be your day-maker. I do my best to make every client feel like my guest: to compliment, serve, and go out of my way to make magic for you.
This is a safe space where ALL are welcome, ALL are loved, and ALL are encouraged to be their full, authentic selves. Hair has no gender and neither do my cuts: all salon services are scheduled and priced around length and time, so there’s no stereotyping and no pink tax. Your hair should be an expression of yourself and here you are always free and safe to share that identity and vision with your stylist.
We don’t do self-deprecation: we are here to find what is naturally beautiful about our hair and embrace it, and can’t do that while caught in a pattern of self-shaming. Recognizing and elevating your natural beauty includes more than just your hair, and this is a space to love yourself and build your confidence all-around.
Ethics
I am committed to a high ethical standard. In my products, my partnerships, my habits, and my culture, I strive for uncompromised excellence. From product lines, I seek clean ingredients, good results, and conscientious distribution. In partnerships, I look for honesty, transparency, and an outward-focused mindset. My habits aim to be based in a constant awareness and respect of all I have influence over: interpersonally and environmentally.
I’m proud to be a certified sustainable salon through Green Circle Salons: a certified B Corp dedicated to fighting beauty waste and climate change. Whether it’s the boxes your product is shipped being broken down locally or your hair clippings being sent away to be used in humanitarian efforts like ocean cleanup, know that everything that can be recycled here will be!
